What We Do

How do I become a flight nurse?

01

Experience

Most companies require 3-5 years as a registered nurse in a critical care setting, meaning ER or ICU. This is a CAMTS requirement from our accrediting source.

02

Certifications

While this is different everywhere, most companies require ACLS, PALS, PHTLS/ITLS and BLS to apply. Once in the role, NRP and an advanced certification like CFRN or CTRN is generally required.

03

Skills

Flight nurses have a wide variety of skills they need to be proficient in. This includes airway management, hemodynamics and monitoring, trauma and excellent quick decision-making skills.
